Your Brilliant Title Here

It was a very good weekend.

wojsvenwoj arrived in due time, and greeted the new arrivals as well as the usual suspects. Spot won two more members for her fan club.
Saturday, after a moderately lazy morning, we headed up to Texas Canyon and drove around. Then in the evening we went for dinner at the Arizona Inn. Clearly the chef knew I was coming; his specials for the evening included venison. We had a lovely, leisurely dinner with just enough food to be sufficient, then spent a little time in the library, which is a classic of its genre.
Sunday was Cavalia day.
lynnesite has been talking it up to me for quite some time now, and it was well worth the advance notice. Very beautiful show, lovely horses. Much magic. Many ideas are bubbling away in the backbrain. I really do need to see it again, though not right away. Must work on books and ride horses and have a normal daily life again, first. And process data from show. I'm not a good reviewer, I don't think that way. But keep an eye on the books.
After the show, we stopped by the parentals' house in Green Valley for a birthday dinner (chocolate truffle ganache cake, yum!) Then back to my own Magical White Critters. Pook looks like a smaller version of Margali's dressage horse, just for starters.
On Monday, the northern contingent left for home, after lunch at El Charro--there's one at the airport. Very filling, wonderful food, excellent for a long flight back into the cold. Once they were off through the security gate, I headed to town for errands. Spot had made it clear that morning that her travel crate was Not big enough for a Princess to sleep in. I found a sale at PetsMart, so Kaz got a new wire crate, somewhat larger which is good as he is a very large Cardi boy, and Spot inherited his old one. With its nice cushy crate pad, it gets the Spot Seal of Approval--also the Cat ditto. They all take turns in it during the day.
Tuesday was not Thud Day. Tuesday was wake up in the wee hours with nasty stomach flu, then crawl out at sunup to feed horses day, followed by vet day--teeth work on keed and the Carrma kids, as well as a checkup and teeth work for Pandora. The Pookometer pegged it--last week's heat was a real one, and she is in excellent shape. It all looks good for breeding her in late March or early April--to the stallion in WA, Conversano Mima, for something unrelated to anything down here. Pan was very good for the vet.
So were the boys. Camilla was not bad at all, considering--and Dr. Mike found a reason for her persistent teeth-grinding and bad temper. She has a defect of the gum on both sides, that creates pockets of infection in two of her molars. She needs regular cleaning and dental care, which he worked on and she really does seem better for it.
Today is Thud Day. It's windy and cold, though the sun is bright. Dogs are flopped hither and yon. I've sent out Pooka's first breeding contract of the season--for a Connemara mare. Sport Pony Approvals, anyone? Others are pending. He'll be a busy guy this spring. Which has already begun if you talk to him. He's Mr. Hormone.
Books are crawling back to life. I have to do a story, which I'm noodling with, and there's a novel due in June. Horses need to get back on a regular training schedule. Life needs to be at least normally abnormal.
