Full Moon II: Stallion Dancing
Sep. 27th, 2004 11:11 pmPooka has a Thing about empty carts and wheelbarrows--I don't know what he thinks they are, but they turn him into a ripsnorting (and highly photogenic) maniac.
So tonight the moon is full or nearly so. It's rather warm. I go trundling out with the barn cart--hauling trash to the can at the end of the arena. Very magical, that.
And there is Pooka, snow-white under the moon, tail flagged, neck arched, floating a foot above the ground. White marble horse. He's growing again--rubbery behind, butt-high--and each time he does that, when he comes out the other side, he's just a little more classic and a little more Lipizzan-y. A little more full of himself, too. This one knows what he's got.
When I brought him hay, a minute later, he was his soft self--ready for his nightly hug.
The mares were more earthbound--they usually are. Mares don't fuss much, unless there's a point to it. They were still glowing in the white light.
Just a little everyday magic.
