Lookit what just joined the brag shelf! I love ebooks and read lots of them, but there's just something about an actual book that I can hold in my hand.

(yep, that Breyer is the dead spittin' image of da Pook--and he's called "Pluto," too)

It's officially going on sale through Book View Cafe on the 18th. Is up at Createspace now, should trickle down to Amazon and other distributors in a few days.

Because I love my readers, I'd like to celebrate by offering signed copies that will be shipped in time for Giftmas. Cost is $20 per book and includes shipping. Here's how to get one:

Email me at capriole at that gmail thang and tell me how many. That's also my Paypal address, so if you'd like to skip a step, just do it through Paypal.

In the US and want to send me a check? We can do that. Email for my address.

Not in the US? We have a workaround for that. Add US$15 ($17 for Oz and NZ) and I will drop-ship the book to you and mail you a signed bookplate. This saves you in the region of US $35 on shipping (...oof. yeah).

Happy PrintBookDay (two-weeks-early) To Me!

Thank you! That will give it a bit longer legs, I think.

:) I'm pleased with it. Leah does a beautiful job of book design. This one was a major challenge, with all the interior illustrations. I've reassured her that the next one will be Just The Text, Ma'am. ;>

And now I know it's out there. I have a preference for hard copies too. I also have a shelf set aside specifically for books by authors I know. :)

I suspect a big part of the reason I haven't sold my Arizona books yet is that - aside from the fact that I've only submitted to a small handful of places so far - is that at the moment I'm exclusively subbing to places that do print copies.

I think it's a good idea to have the option, especially for the kinds of books you and I write. In this case, it's YA, and that tends to do better in print. Though I'm told younger readers are finally starting to get on board with ebooks.

Still, schools and libraries like print. They're a big portion of YA sales.

As e-tuned in as they are to everything else, the students at the college I work for prefer far and away hard copies of books, too.
