Nobody ever accused me of being good at, you know, mentioning these things.

ALAMUT finally has a digital edition (all formats including Kindle and it's DRM-free) at Book View Cafe. And there are chapters going up for free on Mondays at Book View Cafe.

This is the historical fantasy with the teleporting female Assassin and the immortal knight, and a large cast of supporting characters including Saladin and King Baldwin the Leper of Jerusalem. Big, splashy, lots of derring-do, and lots of romance. It's one of my personal favorites.

Go. Read. Have fun. It started last week, on [livejournal.com profile] idiomagic's birthday, she being the person whose indomitable scanner made it possible, so that's chapter two up today, and many more to come.

And then Wednesday (sshhhhhh), there's an amazing, big, spectacular anthology coming out for relief of wildlife and wildlands in the Gulf. It's called BREAKING WAVES, and includes work by Ursula K. Le Guin, Vonda N. McIntyre, moi, and many others, and features as a centerpiece an essay by the great Rachel Carson. It's got stories, essays, cartoons, poems, photographs, everything. Some are sad, some angry, some tragic, but some are funny, too, and there's a lot of hope in it, and a lot of love for the region and the sea. I was on the copyediting team, and some of the stuff in there is just wow. Same Bookview-time, same Bookview-station. Ebook only for now, but a print option is coming, I'm told. (Shhhhh. Ebook on Wednesday. Pass it on.)

I have a beautiful trade paperback version of Alamut somewhere in the house, but I am excited to be able to get a copy of the ebook to have on my reader just in case I get the urge to read it again and don't want to try to find it. :)

Thanks!

Oh, I love this! Alamut has always been one of my favorite novels, and Morgiana among my favorite heroines. Thanks both to you and [livejournal.com profile] idiomagic for putting it online.

The Canty cover on the paperback caught my attention many years ago and I gained a new favourite author, so of course I had to get the ebook. :)

Btw, when the purchase is completed, there's a little error on the page you end up on afterwards. It says:

"Ars Magica is available in epub, lit, lrf, mobi, pdf, and prc formats. Your purchase entitles you to any or all of them. Enjoy!"

(though above that it does say "Thank you for purchasing Alamut")

Thank you! Cut-and-paste demon strikes again. Fixed now.

Enjoy your new ebook. :)

You don't specifically mention the EPUB format, just the Kindle. My Nook is waiting with bated breath...
