You know those quiet hands F made me work at in the clinic?

Pandora says WOOOORRRDDD!

I was afraid I'd get locked and hand-focused and forget to ride the rest of the horse, but instead it's turning into a whole-horse-whole-rider thing. Most interesting. Her response in trot was to become very soft and light, and to balance much better. And I could feel the whole horse, which considering the amount of real estate that mare has, was impressive.

Not getting to ride much, with over 6 inches of rain in the past month-and-a-bit. We only have a slightly slippery track amid the mud. And it rains. A lot. But what there is, we're making the most of.

Pook isn't as highly responsive to the hands as the mares are--he has more on his agenda--but the spring-hormones thing shuts off or turns 'way down when I ride him. They're redlined, mind you; I have to be really really careful around him. But once he's got his saddle on? All business. That's a good stallion.

Very cool!

Can sympathize about the slip-n'-slide footing... The ground has finally dried out here and I am LOVIN' it!

Ain't she wonderful? And "she" actually means both of you. So nice to hear there was this wonderful soft and light trot in her.

Trust F. I think he'd be the last person to encourage you to hand-ride.
