I just spent the last half-hour reading "Falcon Law," and now I'm determined to go out and get every Witch World book out there. (Yes, I only have one: Three Against The Witch World. ::hangs head in shame::) But what a beautiful story, and a great reworking of the trope!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Andre did, too. It became canon. She tried to get me to write a novel for her, but this novella said everything I needed to say about that world.

I could see this as a novel, and not merely the expanded story--you've set up so much that could happen merely from the protagonist's actions alone. (I'm not naming names because I don't want to spoil the story for anyone.) Would you ever reconsider? This is the first story I've read in a long time that centers on these particular themes, where I haven't felt patronized by the author, or preached to, or had the tropes spoon-fed to me in terms a sixth-grader would choke on.

But you've given me all the incentive I need to buy the rest of the Witch World books. I'll be happy with that. :)

Thank you. I did actually do a version of this as three novels--The Mountain's Call and sequels. :) Easier than getting permission from the estate to do a Norton pastiche.
