Pimpage. Yes. Out this week: The Last Paladin. Those who wait for all volumes of a series to come out before buying and/or reading, this is it. Go! Buy! Enjoy!
The week was, as advertised, Lost. Lesson learned: Never sell the one horse in the barn who is not trained to load on a trailer, and then totally space out on making sure he gets trained before the trailer arrives to take him to his somewhat distant home. It came out all right in the end, and he really got to know his new trainer, whom he likes very much, and I got to meet some wonderful horsepeople whom I'll be privileged to know for years to come, but seriously, brain. Not the smartest thing you ever did.
Oreo did finally leave on Thursday (the trailer arrived Saturday evening), and he's safe at the trainer's now, polishing up his manners and getting to know his human. When they're both ready, he'll go to live with her, and life will be good.
In the midst of this, and despite really not being able to afford it, I had a lesson with S. I needed it, Pooka needed it, we said heckwithit and did it. ( Neep! )
It was a good lesson, and helped a great deal with various stresses and bothers. Pooka was happy, which is what it's really all about. And Oreo has gone off to his wonderful new life, which will be recorded photographically, I'm assured, by the incomparable
lynnesite. I can't wait to see.
