Thank you all so, so much for the words of support. They are much appreciated. I'm kind of Flat-Stanleyed still (but getting work done, and hay came in a day early so had to tarp that, and gave horses extra lunch, and...).

Photo from S. It's almost exactly the same stride as the icon, but he's visibly shifted toward his center, and my position is much improved. Need to improve more (especially with that inside rein, as Pooka is letting me know rather firmly), but it's progress.

That not incidentally is his normal working trot. Just imagine what his medium and extended are going to be like. (And yes, I am sitting it. Give or take a bit.)

Hee. I noticed the icon before the post and went, "Is that a new icon? It looks like the old icon. But greener. And he's moving better. And she's sitting better. But it looks like the old icon. Only more awesome."

(Then I figured I might as well, y'know, click on the post and see what you had to say. And all became clear.)

I'm reading Straightening the Crooked Horse by Gabriele Rachen-Schoneich, Klaus Schoneich, Christina Belton, right now. Interesting stuff. A little repetitive, but definitely some light-bulb moments ~ at least for me. Maybe you've read it? It explores centrifugal and shear forces at play on the horse as it moves.

You both look "lifted." Balance coming together. Very nice! :)
