[livejournal.com profile] seachanges is blogging Camp Lipizzan, and has just posted spectacular shots of the skies today.

Be it noted, mid-May is the Dragon's realm. Cloudless clear skies, rapidly rising, fiercely dry heat, and a long stretch of blast-furnace winds that gradually and with much teasing and flirting eases into the summer monsoon--usually around the Fourth of July.

Today and allegedly for much of the week, temporarily we may assume, it's here. Winds shifted from westerly to southeasterly, moisture fetches have surged up from the tropics and the Baja, and a high hovers over and around the Four Corners.

No rain here yet, but there are red spots on the weather radar all around us.

Er...climate change, anyone?

Don't be silly. There's no such thing as climate change. GWB said so.

In season or not, those pictures are lovely.

Funny -- we've just had heat -- no sign of t-storms. Me, I *want* the t-storms because the aquifer is so low... :(
