Open-source lj-like blog entity that everybody seems to be traveling to as a failsafe in case lj goes belly up. You know, someday. It's in beta, so you have to have an invite code or an Open ID to get an account at this point. People are passing them around via their lj's.

More, it's a journal-blog put together by former LJ employees who left with the first wave of disillusionment, and are rebuilding using the open source code for grown-ups (a 'reading list" instead of a friends-list, ways to differentiate between who you want to read and who you want to allow access to your list, etc). Also, no ads at all, and this time they swear they mean it.

I signed on as LauraAnne_Gilman, JiC, although I don't have time/energy to fiddle with it right now.

I backed up my LJ during the last big brew-haha, but having a back door location would be a nice thing. So -- we need an invite, since it's Beta? Still another thing to locate. (I have to get Twitter to catch up with a friend bouncing coast to coast.)

Oh -- anyone wants a Gmail account, let me know. I got mine late, which means most friends who want one already have one. I got invites to spare.
