At this particular point, the baby picture isn't up yet--but that's herself in the icon. :)

Date: 2004-05-01 08:26 pm (UTC)We're trying to figure out where the blaze came from. It's Enormo. And, of course, Adorable.

You can hear the kid drinking from a block away. <slurp, slurp>
I guess I need a "Tw___" name, she still comes quickly to Twerp. :-P Something suitable for a War Mare.

Date: 2004-05-01 10:49 pm (UTC)Almost makes me wonder if she got a sabino/overo gene somewhere. Lipps carry it, and so do Ayrabs. Camilla has a belly spot. Hmm. Any high stockings in Ember's family?
Names. Lessee. We could have a contest.
Twanky. Twyla. Twostep. Twdwr.

Date: 2004-05-02 03:48 am (UTC)And I found a Web page that explains the sabino-overo stuff for any who was confused (like me):

Date: 2004-05-02 09:18 am (UTC)SabiNO?
Date: 2004-05-02 10:23 am (UTC)Her dad's line (Remington Steele++) has none of it, I've seen a lot of his progeny and relatives.
Ember had a skinny star, strip and snip, with a BIG pink "kissing spot" low on the muzzle. Many if not most of the Rem horses have the kissing spot. The twerp does too.
OK, I read all the Deverry stuff--pronounce Twdwr for me? That's beyond my puny Gaelic ken.
Re: SabiNO?
Date: 2004-05-02 11:05 am (UTC)I'm not Kit Kerr, but "Twdwr" is "Tudor," I think. Or maybe more like "Tiddir." Welsh is one of my many not-strong-suits.
Re: SabiNO?
Date: 2004-05-02 11:20 am (UTC)And yeah, it's a wraparound blaze. I personally *love* sabino, even if it's gonna disappear, that was the shock of the birth--never expected that big blaze. My favorite Arabs are CMK, lots of sabino in there.
I'm thinking of homonyms for twerp now. And asking the baby for "hits". Some weird stuff coming up. Really weird. Ready? Zephyr (not very girly). Habiba. Hepziba.

Date: 2004-05-02 02:40 pm (UTC)She is feeling much better after an enema. She was hopping up and down, back end only, while nursing. At first resisted the idea, then collapsed in a heap and said, yes, please help. Ember inspected the results (and results and results), analyzed the outcome and gave me props for making it happen. Baby is now very familiar with TTEAM ear work, and the cramping ceased fairly quickly. I love her quick mind. And of course the bondedness (s that a word?) how she sat up sternally recumbent and nickered at me along with Ember this morning.
Re: Naps/names for Everyone
Date: 2004-05-02 04:14 pm (UTC)Was thinking of CMK and sabino markings today--a friend has Crabbets, all with yer basic star-strip-snip and socks, and a couple of years ago she got...a Hereford. Vivid red chestnut filly with a bald face--twice as much white as little Toodles. "My mare had a cow!" was how she announced it.
The filly is gorgeous. Sure is striking, too.
Glad to hear this one is doing better. How is Miss Em doing? Is she enjoying having the little monster on the outside? I hope she realizes she done good.

TWO-dihr, short I in second syllable.
Kit
She does go on to say Tudor (ie: Henry the 8th) is one version. I think Tudor would be cool, with toodles as a barn name. Perfect for a war mare.

Date: 2004-05-03 10:22 am (UTC)I am not going to torture them. Besides, the baby and mom just coughed up the name, though I think it's part of her name. Twilight ____. (Rose? something "in addition") So it was a "Tw" thing after all. :-)
