And, I have been corrupted into the Twitterverse. It's all [livejournal.com profile] smoemeth's fault. Same username there as here.

I have so far resisted Facebook. I fear, however, that resistance is futile.

I resisted for a Very Long Time, keeping just a blind anon profile so that I could follow one group's events notices. But then someone I respect rather a whole lot friended me there (just before Christmas), and as a result of that I started to find another way to connect with people in that part of my life (horse folks, in short), and then I did a friend's search, and all my diasopora of friends are around, and so, I ended up jumping in with both feet.

I have to say, the interface is not my favorite, and the colliding of worlds is wierd. But. So it is....

Also, for marketing, I can really see it's value....

Great picture!

So, are you enjoying the Twitterverse, or finding it useful, at all? One woman I know, a technical writer, says it is very useful for staying on top of things at technical writing conventions and conferences. I've also come across articles about using Twitter to publicize ones work. Oh, and then there's the guy who's publishing short short short stories, via Twitter, for which he pays iirc $0.05/word.

All my news about Twitter is second-hand/hearsay, as I have not yet succumbed, although I expect to before the year is half over.

It's kind of fun. Haven't done a lot with it yet, but it's easier to post to than lj, and I tend to check in daily. I'll explore more widely as time goes on.

ooo...not twitterpated here yet, but must beg for tamale recipe... we MISS southwestern food. Around here spicy is a little taco spice and a few jalepenos...

Beg... Grovel

Grovel... Grovel...

Though must say it is a sight to watch Havoc downing bowls of salsa at the local almost decent Mexican place... or Chaos ... they are not impressed with the spice.

Beg... Beg...

Chaos crew looking at you with sad eyes.

I didn't make the tamales. They came from my mom's friend, who is from Mexico. In short--totally authentic, and homemade. Just not by me.

But--all is not lost! Look here. (http://www.texastamale.com/)

ooooh.... those look marvelous. The grandmas at our church when we lived down there had a tamale sale once a month. I'd never had them before we moved there, but I've been addicted since. There is a place where my folks live that make wonderful ones, but 18hrs is a long drive for a tamale fix!
