dancinghorseThis morning is a sight I haven't seen in a while: a world of white. I was out late last night after bedding down the horses, walking through the back acre. Crunch of snow underfoot, whiteness everywhere. This morning is cold, and it's brewing up snow again, though the sun is bright at the moment and the branches are shedding their load.
Pook was trapped in his stall for at least part of the night: a huge branch fell off the big pepper tree, 8 inches thick and 15 feet long. Thank god he wasn't in the run when it came down. He'd have been badly hurt or killed. I've got most of that sawed apart and ready to move out of there. He's in the stalls--no problem getting him out, the stall door was on the other side from the downed tree. He's OK, and everybody else is just bemused by all the weird white stuff.
