Ms. has been sent to its editor in e-form, and the printout is ready to deliver later. The 'Way Late Book (which still doesn't qualify me for the Bad Author Award--there are later books out there) is finally handed in. So I sit here with a gottagetbookdonegottagetpaidAAACK! panic attack that has nowhere to go. The body politic is slow to catch up with the rush of reality.

Every now and then it does dawn on me that I'm free to move on. I've been in stuck mode on this project for so long, I can't seem to get truly unstuck.

It will sink in eventually. Meanwhile I think I just may go out and ride some horses, and then (as always) there's other work to do.

Ze keed is doing very well, thanks to them as asked. Yesterday when I brought the saddle out for his mom (they all know whose configuration of bridle, pads, and girth is whose), he marched over to the gate and informed us that we were going Out. And he was coming with us. That seemed like a good idea. So we had a short mosey around the block, and he stayed sound throughout--good news and encouraging for his future as a pony horse and trail horse. I think Teacher was afraid his next stop was the slaughterhouse, but that's not going to happen. As long as he's comfortable, he's not going anywhere but out on short ponies and eventually easygoing trail rides. I can't stay in the saddle that long, either, with the CFS, so he's just about my speed outside the arena (where the frequent changes of gait and movement keep the hips from locking up). He'll be good for lighter-weight guests, too, as long as they can stay balanced in the saddle.

He's quite cheerful meanwhile, is making Pandora's life a living hell (she deserves it; she was getting to be a real pain as herd alpha, would ferociously chase the others away from me and went after Capria quite a bit too often for my liking) and putting her nicely in her place, and protecting his mom. Camilla still thinks he should just die, but she's calming down. Pook has been a pill lately, but he was a pill before keed came back--late-fall hormones and change of season, I'd say; more work is the cure, and he's been getting that. He isn't any more of a pill because the Evil Gelding is back.

And now I must decide what to do with a life that is free, for the first time in years, of The Book That Wouldn't Die. Revise Serpent II, yes. Write Serpent III. Work up something new. Or somethings. And get Pook and Pandora ready for the big clinic. And get clinic organized. Lots to do there. Plus, you know, holidays. And various forms of Work including the poor mentees who saw me disappear off the radar two weeks ago and have been waiting patiently for me to drift back on.

That's definitely enough to keep me off the streets.

see, you KNEW I was thinking about you this morning! And so, you posted ;).

YAY! on book doneishness! This is post-diss syndrome, treat it the same way!

And YAY! re: Keed being sound and keeping the rest of the herd in order et al. That sounds lovely! Um, there are too many exclamation points in this comment.

Also, tell Keed if he talks nicely, I may be convinced to practice some nice ttouch and massagey and connected body work stuff on him when I am in your neck of the woods ;). If his Mom approves, of course!

Sent you email saying no, I didn't get that email, too.

Keed would love that. He's TTEAM pony supreme. Looooooves the work.

Postpartum is what it feels like. I'm completely useless today. No redeeming social value at all.

*hee* re: post-partum. I always used to say writing a big work (diss, for me...) was probably a bit like pregnancy. I also threatened to give my parents a copy of the-diss-that-wasn't in a baby blanket, since they were getting it instead of a grandchild ;).
