Co-owner has agreed, so it can be official. TH (for Toad Hill where he was born) Coronado, aka Oreo. He likes Oreo. And scrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrritchies. Boy is a scritchies-holic. He sees me, he scampers up, he presents the portion of his anatomy that itches. This is good. Humans = good things. We want him to make that connection.

Today, otherwise, is teh suck. Der puter suddently presented Green Screen in the middle of a gmail reply, needed to be rebooted and is still very slightly funky (no screen saver)--is this a bug or a feature in Firefox or do I need to call Dell before the machine dies the death? Anybody know? This is rather critical as I Must have a working puter with working wi-fi in Dallas in 11 days, and I Really need a working puter meanwhile. The backup is barely hanging on and needs a new keyboard.

Taminy-cat, the one who usually needs the hospital when sick, is sick. I hope it's temporary and he gets over it or there will be no trip to Dallas. He'll take that part of the budget.

And da Pook is lame. Stone bruise. Good thing he isn't going to Texas with me after all. He can rest and get over it and get back to work in two weeks.

Mercury is retrograde. And how.

ah shit. on all levels. {{empathy}} and {{no hospital getwellsoon TaminyCat}} vibes.

Mercury is retrograde, huh? I missed that, somehow. But it explains A LOT.

*Sigh*.

hey, do you have Pooka on a hoof supplement? JJ's got TWO cracks in her off front hoof, and I'm wondering if she needs something other than the kelp/balanced feed ration/salt and minerals she's been getting...

Also, I'm not a firefox girl, so I am no help on the computer stuff. Might be worth a call to dell, just in case. unless they'll charge you to call. Then, well...

Hmmm ... are you on the most current version of Firefox? If so, then that might not be it.

Any chance the computer might have gotten overheated? That was causing mine to get wonky a few days ago.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe your video driver needs a reinstall, but I'm pulling that one straight out of my arse. :}

I forget, did you spring for the in-home service? If so, get on chat with Dell Support right now and set up an appointment. They'll be there by Monday or Tuesday (two business days), plenty of time before you go to TX.

(No *kidding* is Mercury retrograde right now. I've been dealing with travel hell all week, and we haven't even left yet ...)

Thanks! I couldn't get any satisfaction on green screen, though if I get it again I'll call. However I did end up getting a dispatch order for the old puter that overheats and has the broken spacebar. Downside is, it won't be fixed before I leave--it's a heatsink problem and has to go to the factory. I have to pray this one doesn't green-screen again in the meantime.

I do have email in on the screen problem but don't know what help they'll be. We'll see.

Yep! He is a Pooka.

His kid is, too. Loves water, has a wild but sweet eye, defies gravity when he moves...

Sounds like 'puter, not program (I've never had a green screen with Firefox on either Windows or Mac, nor have I seen any mention of it in helpfiles or fora; hence my suspicion).

Dang! You're finally going to Dallas ... and now I'm in Indiana. Phooey.

Thanks, I'll be watching the puter, then. It was weird to get green instead of blue. But there is was. Possibly Meredith is right and it's a video-card issue?

Phooey indeed. Come back to Dallas!

I did some googling around--apparently if you have Windows Media and SP2, this can happen. I must have hit a button just wrong on the overcrowded gmal page.

Which means the only way to figure it out is to see if it happens again. Urrrrg.

But let's hope that it DOESN'T happen again!

At least I'll have a backup when the other one comes back. Meanwhile, so far so good. I'm pretty sure I hit the wrong key somehow this morning. I hope. Anyway.

You poor thing. I had a better day than you did, though that's not saying much.

Taminy is back to normal, thank god. Wanted his lunch and has been coming for hugs.
