Spring!

First snake trail, check.

First anthill, check.

First wildflower on the farm, check.

First eggshell in the barn, check.

I'd say it's spring.

And yesterday, the moon got caught in the first bird of paradise blossom:

Spring isn't quite here yet. We had a proto-thunderhead hiding behind the long wispy clouds of winter. We hit 60F, but 80mph winds tell us this is just a teaser.

Lovely! Is it as usually early for you there as it is for us here? (Star magnolias in full bloom, early cherries out, tulip magnolias beginning, and all the spring bulbs -- daffs, crocus, hyacinth -- fully busy). I'm still betting on a hard winter storm before it's all over...

We're about two weeks early in general. Oddly, the horses started shedding later than usual, but the one who never sheds before April has started already.

Odd year. We had a light freeze two mornings ago. Tomorrow will push 90 in some places.

Spring has come early here in SF...it seems we've missed out on a lot of the rainstorms we usually get. It's currently 67 degrees and clear skies, which for a New Englander like me feels really weird at this time of year. Not that I'm complaining, though. :)
