[livejournal.com profile] kaygo is branching out. According to Myers-Briggs I am:

INTJ - "Mastermind". Introverted intellectual with a preference for finding certainty. A builder of systems and the applier of theoretical models. 2.1% of total population.
Take Free Myers-Briggs Personality Test

Kind of fits a fantasy writer.

I usually test out as INTP, but it's very easy to wander through a couple results, depending on mood of answering questions.

I did get that impression. So many of the questions, if I had been able to answer with my real reaction, would have come out to, "Huh?" or "Who cares?" Also they ask your gender, which indicates that the test has an underlying bias.

One thing one of the tests does--Global, I think--is equate intellectual with solitary or isolated. I came out "Sensate" on that (on the Ennead I'm Sexual--hmmph), which doesn't feel like me at all. I sent in a comment that intellectuals are not all hermits, and the life of the mind does not preclude the life of the body.

Scary that these blatantly biased and highly subtextual tests are the basis of so many institutions' hiring practices.

Over the last 20 years, I've taken the Meyer-Briggs "test" three times, always INTJ. Interestingly, IN and J are always mid-range, one question answered differently in each, and I'd be ESTF, but it never is. Two have been the big, long, take forever tests, and the third version was pretty short, maybe 50 questions? I like that there's lots of data on Meyers-Briggs; it's also been around since WWII, and continues to get attention. Fun, eh?

I took what seems to be the short version and came out a Mastermind.

Or as I prefer to think of it, a mindermast.

Also an INTJ (I call it my "Red Queen J--Off with their heads!")

My boss, who is a passionate believer in Myers-Briggs, Social Styles, and other such tools, and uses them very well in managing her staff and their projects, calls it my "Bitch J." (Have I mentioned that I adore this boss? She swears more than I do...)

I always test as INTJ. Most programmers do, apparently.

I waffle between INFP and INFJ. And am closer to the I/E border all the time.

I am so clearly N it's ridiculous, though. If I answer one or two questions on the S side, that's a lot. My take is that I think the outside world is a fine place, but I wouldn't want to live there.

The past few years I have been ENFJ/INFJ--a literal 50-50 split. I drifted into "T" territory six-seven years ago.... I think I changed to try and keep my marriage together. I'm less organized (whatever) but happier now, I suspect.
