Sunday Excursions
May. 2nd, 2004 04:39 pmThis morning after the usual horse chores (feed, water, clean corrals),
janni came over to play with ponies. Keed was In A Mood, so she ended up riding Capria--who was her gracious and regal self. Janni was rusty but the skills came back, and Capria had a lovely time teaching her an assortment of classical aids. It was intriguing to watch the change in position as the ride went on.
Keed wanted a ride--the Mood was not about being ridden, it was about the universe in general, I think, and the fact that he hates (hates) days off, which he usually gets the day after a lesson. He was much happier once he realized that he was getting a ride, too--and in his own saddle, which is much more comfortable at this point than the dressage saddle.
We went for a trail ride in the beautiful cool, breezy but not too terrible morning. Ended up feeding horses lunch, then heading to town for lunch ourselves. Much good conversation, and some useful errands on the way back. Now I'm tired. Fresh air and a lot of good food will do that to you.
Discovered en route back that the new shopping center nearest my (rather remote) house is adding a Cold Stone Creamery to the lineup. Vicious killer attack ice cream. Bring it on!
And now I'm a puddle. One of the cats is sick so probably needs a trip to the vet tomorrow, and there is work as always, which I must recover and do at least some of before I fall over for the night.
