It's Number Three Son's birthday, and lynnesite has been recording him and his sister Twix for posterity. We always knew Pooka was essentially a rubber stamp for his genes, but now we have objective proof.

The Pooka photos, be it noted, were taken when Pooka was a little older than Twix, the first time Hawkeye's future human mom met him and agreed that he needed to be the father of her foal.

Thanks to the proprietor for finding those old pix, the difference in Pooka's standing shot and now is rather wonderful. And the pink nose is the kissing spot, of course. She demands kisses from visitors too to their initial consternation and then happy acceptance.

I got the Pooklet I wanted, and she has really blossomed since hitting 5. Would recommend Pooklets to anybody who wants smarts, substance, beauty, great feet, trainability and of course the BOND.

Hawkeye is edging towards 15.2hh and he expresses his Arab heritage more than daddy's girl Twix. He is in harness with PVC shanks now, which was a non-event. Twix is in the lines and knows things like shoulder in, we'll be driving her a little too, some day we'll be driving her a lot as she has the perfect temperament for it. She's been backed but post-laminitis (now feeding this Pooklet like a pony) I've put off the riding for a bit longer. She is still growing her withers, and boy was I happy when those popped up.
