Panic Deferred
Dec. 6th, 2006 03:48 pmIn between a rush passage ("Nobody wanted to do this one, could you do it by tomorrow?"--what, people turn them down?) and a few alarums related to Big-Juju SRS Clinic in January, it's been the Week of the Panic Attack.
Passage is done. They say it makes sense. We shall see, she said darkly.
Clinic adventures have been ongoing. It's a big undertaking to import a teacher from Austria, and there can't be any false moves--these guys do not come cheap, and airfare isn't trivial, either. We've got the venue, we've got insurance and facilities in process, we've been sending out the promo and there will be features in various forms of the local and state press. It's been moving along, which is good because the dates are January 10th-14th.
Then last week the GoH emailed to ask if we could change the dates--he had a conflict. No, we couldn't. I was the Optimist for the rest of the group, but I was hitting the panic button.
Today he finally emailed to say he can manage the dates, and shortly thereafter, one of the Cave Creek Crew(tm) informed us she's got 10 more rides. We may have 2 left. We have a waiting list. Sold Out! Hallelujah! We've even got a clinician, which is kind of essential.
Flight reservations will follow. Also, some meepage. We've got people coming from all over to audit or ride. Right,
raithen?
Pook and Pandora really have to get to work now.

Date: 2006-12-06 10:53 pm (UTC)And YAY on sellout! *whee*
though I had fears that there were alarums! Really, I swear that men (with a few exceptions, and some women fall in this group, too) should NOT be allowed to manage their own schedules. ;) *phew* for it all working out. Anything else I can do to help?
PS: should I bring the video camera?

Date: 2006-12-07 02:49 am (UTC)We actually have 2 rides open, but they'll fill, I'm sure. The main thing is that with 48 rides, we'll break even. And there are quite a few auditors coming.
Good thing we have a clinician!

Date: 2006-12-07 02:55 am (UTC)Most of the details are worked out now, or are on the list to take care of closer to the event. Once I have his flights, we really are committed. (Or ought to be, one way or the other. ===80 )
Whew!

Date: 2006-12-07 08:50 am (UTC)That is putting it mildly, yes. It hasn't completely sunk in yet, I think, and I have enough challenges left not to get complacent anytime soon...

Date: 2006-12-07 07:52 pm (UTC)Indeed! though I think that Joni would have made a FINE stand-in -- bind the boobs, get a make up mustache, put her hair up, and get her a tricorn hat. Et voila! No one would know the difference.
Except Pook, of course. ;).
