Romance! Adventure! Minor Thuddage!

dancinghorseFeeling much better, thank you all for the good wishes. I barely crashed today and that included a lesson. Post-TL lesson with Camilla, with me feel-free and pretty much brain-free as well. She got literally hopping mad when she got off balance and I blindly pulled the wrong rein, but once I paid attention to Teacher and did the right things, she relaxed right away. Damn, I said to Teacher. Now I have to learn to ride.
Teacher had my clinic DVD's. Lord that mare is a rubber noodle! But once she's balanced, she's wonderful. Our excellent videographer got most of the discussion around the lessons, too, bless her, so we've got nearly all of the important stuff on video, loud and clear.
Oreo's weaning proceeds apace. S may come and get his mom on Tuesday, earlier than predicted--she's hating being locked up and he's very lackadaisical about being put back in with her--he barely notices the milk bar. He'd rather be with dad or Tia. Tomorrow night, if all goes well tomorrow, I'll complete the process.
Meanwhile there is Adventure, and Sudden Turns of Plot. After a lot of uncertainty and some alarums and excursions, we are planning a SRS clinic in Scottsdale (Cave Creek, actually) in January, most likely the 10th-14th. We got a venue today, pending the working out of some details, complete with covered arena, and within an hour we had most of the ride slots filled. There are still slots, if anybody wthin reach is reading this and would be interested, and there is plenty of room for auditors. The clinician is an Assistant Rider (has ridden and trained to Grand Prix, is still training his own stallion to the high school, which is what makes a Rider), and he's very excited to be coming to teach us. (Can we say Really Cute Guy With Super Equestrian Education?) I expect the clinic to be full within days, but we will run a waiting list and people always back out at the last minute, so don't give up hope.
I'm really jazzed about this. Pook has arranged it, I know. Today he was a frakking maniac during my lesson, complete with Airs, shark attacks, hissy fits, and thermonuclear explosions. Three more days in jail, I told him. I'm cold, I am.
