The import from Livejournal so far seems to have gone without noticeable issues, and all my posts appear to be here. I am relieved. And happy to see so many familiar icons and handles. Hello, hello! Hi, everybody!

I am also thinking I would like to post more regularly again. It's new-toy syndrome, but also a factor of this year in general, in which I've been both going back to roots and discovering new shoots and branches. Grounding myself, so I can fly higher. And writing personal blog entries (as opposed to public essays) seems like a thing I should get back to doing.

People have missed the horse neep, for one thing. And there are ruminations on life and politics and such that really do need more scope than a twitter feed, even if one has mastered the art of the megathread.

We'll see how it goes. But I like the feel of this. It's a way forward, grounded in a useful part of the past. I like that, too.

I know a lot of people, in moving over, have said they hope there is a rebirth in what we all had at Livejournal once. That great writing community. I hope it will happen.

I'm glad to see people moving here. I've just finishing purging my LJ. I'm not deleting it yet, because there are still a couple of people there I want to stay in touch with, but all my posts are gone now.

I was feeling the same, although somewhat reversed. I was doing a lot of personal blogging on LJ, but I'm hoping DW will motivate me to blog more about other things, comics and movies and books and psychology.

Well, it took less than two weeks for me to find the "Reading Page." So, I'll call that a win!

I concur with all you said about blogging here. I am finding social media can suck the life out of you. Huge open energy portal. I know I need time and solid space to relaunch -- but connection is still so important in succeeding at that too.

I really like dreamwidth. Tumblr is too--yelly and uncivil and there's no real conversation there.
