Is it directly connected to the White Mare's Daughter sequence, or "merely" share many of the same cultural templates? I saw nothing to either confirm or contradict a direct link (though admittedly I haven't read Lady of Horses).

I liked it muchly, btw, tho' I found the first couple scenes confusing and choppy.
