At this particular point, the baby picture isn't up yet--but that's herself in the icon. :)

SabiNO?

AFAIK, no sabino, high white, belly spots on Ember's side, unless it's way back on her dam's side.

Her dad's line (Remington Steele++) has none of it, I've seen a lot of his progeny and relatives.

Ember had a skinny star, strip and snip, with a BIG pink "kissing spot" low on the muzzle. Many if not most of the Rem horses have the kissing spot. The twerp does too.

OK, I read all the Deverry stuff--pronounce Twdwr for me? That's beyond my puny Gaelic ken.

If the big blaze goes over her muzzle and into her lower lip, as it appears to, it looks like it might be minimally expressed sabino. If she had hind socks I'd be willing to bet on it. Doesn't really matter; she's gorgeous no matter what.

I'm not Kit Kerr, but "Twdwr" is "Tudor," I think. Or maybe more like "Tiddir." Welsh is one of my many not-strong-suits.

She has a wee bit of white on the back of one hind ankle.

And yeah, it's a wraparound blaze. I personally *love* sabino, even if it's gonna disappear, that was the shock of the birth--never expected that big blaze. My favorite Arabs are CMK, lots of sabino in there.

I'm thinking of homonyms for twerp now. And asking the baby for "hits". Some weird stuff coming up. Really weird. Ready? Zephyr (not very girly). Habiba. Hepziba.

Congratulations to Ember on her beautiful baby girl! The glory and the sorrow of a cross-bred is that you can name her any damn thing you want, with no rules. I like Zephyr. But what about something to honor her May Day birth?

Naps/names for Everyone

Ideas/May Day? Derby Day? I'm open to suggestions (which will be run past the Pooklet). Might have to keep Twerp as the barn name, she sees the humor in that.

She is feeling much better after an enema. She was hopping up and down, back end only, while nursing. At first resisted the idea, then collapsed in a heap and said, yes, please help. Ember inspected the results (and results and results), analyzed the outcome and gave me props for making it happen. Baby is now very familiar with TTEAM ear work, and the cramping ceased fairly quickly. I love her quick mind. And of course the bondedness (s that a word?) how she sat up sternally recumbent and nickered at me along with Ember this morning.

They don't get much cuter than this kid. What a face! What a personality!

Was thinking of CMK and sabino markings today--a friend has Crabbets, all with yer basic star-strip-snip and socks, and a couple of years ago she got...a Hereford. Vivid red chestnut filly with a bald face--twice as much white as little Toodles. "My mare had a cow!" was how she announced it.

The filly is gorgeous. Sure is striking, too.

Glad to hear this one is doing better. How is Miss Em doing? Is she enjoying having the little monster on the outside? I hope she realizes she done good.

I like Hepzibah. Habiba is a love-name, of course. Aziza. Atiyah (my friend has one with that name).

Sophronia. Sophonisba. Zamaniyah.

"Twdwr" should be Tudor or something close to it.
