We are touching the big time here

Just heard from Tor Publicity (which is working its collective heiny off for this book) that The Serpent and the Rose will be reviewed in the March 16th issue of Entertainment Weekly. Good or bad, this is excellent PR.

There is also an article by moi, as Kathleen Bryan, in the next (or latest, not sure which--March?) issue of My Borders, which is featuring the book.

Boo hiss to FedEx for failing to deliver any copies that I could actually, like, you know, see. But hey, as long as the rest of you can see (and buy) it, that's what counts.

Wow, very cool. I have a sub for the magazine and will make sure to look for your review. Whee......

What day of the week does your issue arrive? Just trying to figure out when the issue will hit the newsstand. :)

It should hit the newsstand this weekend since the March 16th issue will contain TV listings for the week of Monday the 12th-Sunday the 18th.

I need to pay more attention in the bookstore. I just bought a Judith Tarr paperback a couple weeks ago, and thought I was buying the latest one.
(going to look at the to-be-read shelf) King's Blood

Holy CRAP, batman!!! 8)

Yay for publicity!! Whatta concept... :)

(So that's two people on my flist that have books mentioned in the same issue of EW. How bizarre. Of course I'm much more jazzed about yours. :)

Who else is in there? It's Family!

[identity profile] smoemeth.livejournal.com 2007-03-09 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] misia (Hanne Blank) has a review of her book on the history of virginity in there, supposedly.

One wonders what a dual review of the two would be like. ;)

EW is great publicity! People will remember your name was in it, even if they don't give you the best of reviews. Of course, I'm hoping it's all good, but still...

And in-house publication in a bookstore is also excellent.
I hope all this shows in the numbers!

Hurray for Kathleen!

I am *so* glad to read this.

Huzzah!

Great news about your (or Ms. Bryan's) latest book! I have a few friends who adore classic fantasy and I sent them Amazon links as soon as I found out about "The Serpent and The Rose". Hopefully they used that handy-yet-horrible "1-Click" button. :P Too bad for me that my volume is waiting for me at the post office, when I have no chance of getting to it until the weekend.

Thank you kindly. I hope you enjoy it once you get to it.

Confused, and Grats!

[identity profile] daistarya.livejournal.com 2007-04-03 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
This is my first time responding in your LJ so first off HI!!! Im a big fan... but somewhat confused. Please excuse my noobliness but this question is bothering me: Are you one writer using several pen names? Judith Tarr, Caitlin Brennan and now Kathleen Bryan. I wasnt sure if I should ask but I figured might as well!

And grats on the new venture! I hope you feel better from the Pooka assault. <3
